EXCITING PHOTOGRAPHY NOW! is a 480 page survey of current American photography edited by Eve Lyons and Matthew Leifheit. The first ever open call in MATTE Magazine's decade-long history of supporting emerging artists. Included in the survey are many of our favorite photos submitted. We also invited additional photographers whose work we knew to be in dialogue, commissioning poems, essays, and interviews, totaling 85 contributors in all. Our hope is that this issue serves not only as a document of current American photography, but a resource to students and anyone interested in learning more about pictures.
